With a population of over six million, Sierra Leone is a country in West Africa that is bordered by Guinea to the northeast, Liberia to the southeast, and the Atlantic Ocean to the southwest. Freetown is the capital, largest city as well as its economic, commercial and political centre. Some of the issues are:
- 70% of its people live in poverty
- Sierra Leone Civil War devastated the country and destroyed the country's infrastructure destroyed, and
- Over two million people displaced in neighboring countries as refugees
- Unsustainable agricultural land use
- Poor soil and water management practices
- Deforestation
- Removal of natural vegetation
ABC4All/Sierra Leone
Phoenix Voyage is thrilled to announce our partnership with ABC4All in USA and Local ABC4All / Sierra Leone (a registered NGO in that country). With a partnership having been established with The Foundation For A Better Community For All (FABC), a non-profit public benefit corporation within the State of California and based in the United States, it is possible to establish and provide resources by Phoenix Voyage for any country where ABC4All Mentors exist.
First Initiative
With a population of over 100,000 people, Makemi is the largest city and economic center of the Northern Province of Sierra Leone. Makeni is the capital and administrative center of Bombali District and the home town of Sierra Leone's president Ernest Bai Koroma as he was born and raised in the city.
In Sierra Leone, with a property size of over 550 acres, we will be building a Phoenix Center, housing and supporting the community efforts in gold mining. There are 500 community members who will benefit from inspiring programs Phoenix Voyage introduces thru its Phoenix Center
The soil is fertile for farming especially for Rice, Groundnuts, Corn, Pepper, Cassava etc.
